Keke Jabbar Died from Fatal Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, The cause of Keke Jabbar’s death has been confirmed as carbon monoxide poisoning, TMZ reports. According to the autopsy conducted by the Alabama medical examiner, the reality star had 64% carboxyhemoglobin in her blood.
Carboxyhemoglobin forms when carbon monoxide binds to hemoglobin in the blood, preventing oxygen from properly circulating. Typically, non-smokers have carboxyhemoglobin levels under 2%, while smokers can have up to 5%. Keke’s level, at 64%, was fatal.
Though the toxicology report also found oxycodone and oxymorphone in her system, the primary cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning.
Keke Jabbar, known for her role on OWN’s “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” passed away in July. Her family released a statement saying she died “peacefully at home surrounded by love.” Beyond her TV career, Keke was a writer, editor, author, and professor. She was only 42.
