Waitress Fired for Posting Viral Video of Man Dining with a Sex Doll
A North Carolina waitress was fired after sharing a viral TikTok video of a customer having dinner with an inflatable sex doll.
Tara Bjork, a server at the Restoration Hardware Rooftop Restaurant, posted the video on May 27. In the video, she remarked, “Ok, I’m not supposed to be making TikToks at work, but this calls for it. I work at a nice restaurant in Charlotte, and I need you guys to see what just came in the door.” She then zoomed in on a man dining with an inflatable female doll.
The doll had yellow-blonde hair, wore a black sleeveless dress, and was even hand-fed grapes by the man. The video quickly gained over a million views.
Bjork later shared a follow-up video stating she was fired because of the post. She explained to the Charlotte Observer, “[I] knew one of two things was going to happen: it would get no views and I would be fine, or it would blow up and I would be fired.” She added that she was prepared for new opportunities, so the firing wasn’t a major shock.
During an interview with radio station 96.1, Bjork described her reaction to seeing the man trying to “seat” the doll as mortifying. She also recounted the man feeding grapes to his “date.”
In response, the man in the video posted his own video with a series of photos of himself dining with the doll, captioned “Tough date.” He explained that the unusual dinner was a result of losing a Fantasy Football bet.
