Details of the Crime and Investigation
A Miss Switzerland finalist, Kristina Joksimovic, had intended to leave her husband before he brutally murdered and dismembered her. The 38-year-old model and mother-of-two was found dead at her home in Binningen, near Basel, in February. The autopsy revealed that she was strangled to death before being dismembered with a jigsaw, a knife, and a saw. Some of her remains were also blended and dissolved in a chemical solution.
Her husband, Thomas, 41, was arrested shortly after the murder and has confessed to the crime. According to sources, Kristina had been planning to end her marriage, which may have been a motive for the horrific act. Reports indicate that she had expressed fear about leaving him.
The murder occurred shortly after Kristina shared images of a seemingly happy getaway to Lake Lucerne on social media. However, their relationship had been troubled for months, with previous reports of domestic violence.
Investigators noted that Thomas exhibited a lack of empathy and sadistic traits. Forensic evidence contradicted his claims of self-defense, leading to his confession. Thomas’s appeal for release from custody was denied, and the case continues to unfold with disturbing details about his behavior and the circumstances of the crime.
