Toronto Teacher Suspended After Allegedly Showing Charlie Kirk Assassination Video to 10-Year-Old Students
A Toronto public school teacher has been suspended after allegedly showing a violent video of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk’s assassination to children as young as 10 while telling them the killing was “deserved.”
Disturbing Classroom Incident
The incident reportedly happened on Thursday, September 11, inside a French immersion class at Corvette Junior Public School. The teacher, who was serving as a supervisor, is accused of forcing students in grades 5 and 6 to watch the graphic footage multiple times.
Several children, shaken by what they saw, went home and told their parents. According to the Toronto Sun, parents quickly contacted school administrators, leading to the teacher’s suspension the following day, September 12.
Details of the Charlie Kirk Shooting
Charlie Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10 while giving a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Prosecutors allege that Tyler Robinson, 22, a local trade school student, fired a single shot from a rooftop that killed Kirk in front of nearly 3,000 people. Robinson has since been charged with aggravated murder.
Teacher Linked Video to Political Views
Reports claim the suspended teacher used the video as part of a speech on anti-fascism and transgender issues, insisting that Kirk “deserved” to be killed.
In a letter sent home on Friday, Principal Jennifer Koptie described the allegations as “extremely troubling and completely disturbing.” She confirmed that portions of the video were shown to children aged 10 and 11.
School Board Response
“The teacher has been relieved of all teaching responsibilities pending the outcome of the investigation and will not be at the school,” the letter stated.
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has launched a full investigation into the incident. Officials say further disciplinary action will depend on the outcome of the inquiry.
