Texas Police Officer Wrangles Baby Alligator on Doorstep, All Part of the Job
A Texas police officer might have a future as an alligator wrestler when he retires, as body cam footage shows him calmly handling a baby gator on someone’s doorstep.
The incident took place last Friday in Fulshear, Texas, and was captured on the officer’s body cam. The video shows the officer approaching the home to remove the small alligator from the property.
In the clip, the officer casually walks up to the reptile, mentioning that he received a call about it. Instead of calling animal control, he decides to take care of the situation himself since the gator is small.
Though the alligator isn’t very large, its sharp teeth are still intimidating. There’s a brief, tense moment as the officer faces off with the little creature.
In the end, the officer successfully wrangles the gator, carrying it away as onlookers applaud his efforts.
The Fulshear Police Department shared the footage on Facebook, noting that their officer handled the situation because “you can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy.”
It’s worth mentioning that gator wrangling isn’t uncommon in the area, with the police department saying it’s almost a rite of passage for their officers. For this Texas cop, it was just another day on the job—no guns or gloves needed!
