Taylor Swift Escapes Legal Nightmare Justin Baldoni Drops Her Subpoena
Taylor Swift just dodged a major legal bullet in the escalating drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively Baldoni’s team officially withdrew the subpoena against her and her legal team, TMZ confirms.
A spokesperson for Blake Lively praised Taylor’s legal team, saying they backed the move to toss the subpoenas and that Lively’s camp will keep “standing up for anyone unfairly targeted” in this messy case.
Sources say Baldoni wanted Swift involved to complicate things, but when it came down to it in federal court, Baldoni’s side backed off completely.
Blake’s rep didn’t hold back, warning, “Eventually, Baldoni’s team will run out of distractions from the real sexual harassment and retaliation claims they’re facing.”
We first reported that Swift was subpoenaed earlier this month to testify a move her camp blasted since she barely had anything to do with It Ends with Us, the film at the heart of the fight between Lively and Baldoni.
Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman even sent a letter claiming someone anonymously said Blake tried to pressure Taylor into publicly backing her but that letter was quickly removed from the record.
Taylor’s name pops up a few times in the suit, including in a text Lively allegedly sent Baldoni calling Swift and Ryan Reynolds her protective “dragons” a nod to Game of Thrones while dubbing herself “The Mother of Dragons.”
Taylor wasn’t thrilled with that metaphor, and sources say she felt used by Blake, especially after showing up for a meeting unaware Baldoni would be there.
