Shakira Forced to Cancel Another Concert Tour Chaos Worsens
Shakira fans are heartbroken once again as the global superstar has pulled the plug on yet another major concert her third cancellation in just a few days!
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was set to perform on Saturday, May 31, at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. as part of the grand opening for WorldPride, the world’s largest LGBTQ+ celebration. But just 24 hours before showtime, the venue announced that Shakira would no longer be hitting the stage and fans are in shock.
This cancellation follows back-to-back show scrubs in Boston, where Shakira was scheduled to rock Fenway Park on both Thursday and Friday. However, Boston city inspectors reportedly found issues with the concert’s staging setup during a routine check flagging structural problems that immediately shut the shows down for safety concerns.
The ripple effect from Boston hit hard, with Nationals Park issuing a statement blaming complications in transporting the full tour production to D.C. in time for Saturday’s performance.
“Despite every effort to make it happen,” the park said, “it is not possible to move forward as planned.”
Shakira also took to social media to share her heartbreak, saying, “I’ve been counting down the days to be with my fans in Boston and Washington. My team and I tried everything, but this is out of our hands. I’m devastated, but I promise to come back as soon as I can.”
There’s no official word yet on whether the Boston and D.C. concerts will be rescheduled, but fans are holding out hope
