Rapper BeatKing Passes Away at 39 Due to Pulmonary Embolism
BeatKing, the well-known Houston rapper and producer, has tragically passed away at the age of 39. TMZ has confirmed the cause of his death.
A representative for BeatKing revealed that he died on Thursday in a Houston hospital after suffering a pulmonary embolism. The rapper reportedly collapsed while doing a morning show takeover at Urban One/Radio One station and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away. His two daughters were by his side at the time.
The rep expressed deep sorrow, saying, “It is truly sad, we loved him so much.”
In a heartfelt tribute shared Thursday night, BeatKing’s rep remembered him as “the best part of the club for over a decade.” She highlighted his impact on the music industry, noting that his sound will live on through the many artists he collaborated with. She added, “He loved his daughters, his music, and his fans. We will love him forever.”
BeatKing rose to international fame in 2020 with his viral TikTok hit, “Then Leave.” Before that, he was a prominent figure in the Texas party scene, where his music was a staple at colleges and clubs throughout the 2010s.
His other popular tracks include “SDAB” featuring 2 Chainz and Juicy J, “Outside,” and “Keep It Poppin” featuring Ludacris and Queendom Come.
Recently, BeatKing was seen with Drake, though it’s unclear if they were working on a collaboration.
BeatKing was 39 years old.
