Photos & Names of Pilots and Crew Revealed After Deadly Air India Crash Moments After Takeoff
The faces and names behind the cockpit of the tragic Air India jetliner crash have been revealed as the nation mourns the loss of hundreds of lives.
Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, a highly experienced pilot with over 8,200 flying hours, was at the helm of the ill-fated Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
By his side was First Officer Clive Kunder from Mumbai, who had clocked 1,100 flying hours and completed his training at Florida’s Paris Air Flight School.
Tragically, they weren’t the only ones lost in the disaster. The cabin crew team has now been identified:

Each of these dedicated professionals was onboard the doomed flight that went down just seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad, crashing into a residential area and leaving behind a trail of devastation.
Incredibly, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a British father, survived the crash. Speaking from his hospital bed, the 40-year-old recounted the horrifying moment:
“About thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise and the plane went down. When I came to, there were bodies everywhere. I was terrified, but I ran. Someone pulled me to safety and I was rushed to hospital.”
The aircraft was carrying 242 passengers, including 53 Britons, 159 Indian nationals, seven Portuguese citizens, and one Canadian. Among them were 11 children, including two newborn babies.
This tragedy has shaken families across continents, as investigations into the cause continue.
