Pete Hegseth: U.S. Delivers Massive Blow to Iran’s Nuclear Program in Historic B-2 Strike
The United States has delivered what officials are calling the most powerful B-2 bomber strike in its history, hitting three of Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facilities in a bold overnight operation named Operation Midnight Hammer.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Sunday that the airstrikes had caused devastating damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. He credited the success to President Donald Trump’s “decisive leadership” and commitment to protecting U.S. national interests and its ally Israel.
The precision attacks targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites, with B-2 stealth bombers, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft carrying out the mission. U.S. officials say the strikes took Iran by complete surprise and left the nuclear facilities in ruins.
General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said no U.S. aircraft were fired upon during the operation. While final assessments are still underway, early reports confirm that the sites suffered major destruction.
President Trump, addressing the nation late Saturday, praised the operation as a major success in dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the attack, warning of serious and lasting consequences.
