Olympic Swimmer Collapses in Front of Horrified Spectators in Paris
Slovakian swimmer Tamara Potocka collapsed in front of shocked spectators after finishing her race at the Paris Aquatics Centre during the Olympic Games.
The 21-year-old competed in the women’s 200-meter individual medley at 10:30 a.m. BST this morning. After finishing seventh and missing out on qualification for the later rounds, Potocka was seen sitting by the pool for a few seconds before collapsing backwards.
Medics swiftly responded, placing an oxygen mask over Potocka’s face as she lay motionless. They then carefully loaded her onto a stretcher and rushed her out of the arena.
