Oil magnate David Thomas Blyth fatally shot his wife, comedian Victoria Vera, before taking his own life in a murder-suicide following an argument about her text messages.
The British oil magnate took the life of his television star wife and then himself in a tragic murder-suicide at their residence in Turkey.
Comedian Victoria Vera Blyth was killed by her husband, David Thomas Blyth, who then ended his own life at their home in Ankara, Turkey, on Tuesday, June 11.
The oil magnate, owner of the international oil company ASG Inspection, was married to Victoria Vera Blyth, who hosted the Morning Show on Europe 2.
The couple had three children, aged four, ten, and fourteen, who are now in the care of their mother’s family, who traveled to Turkey after the incident.
The fatal event reportedly resulted from a heated dispute over the presenter’s text messages.
Married in 2014, the couple lived in Prague for several years before relocating to Turkey due to Blyth’s work in the Middle East.
Mrs. Blyth, originally from South Africa, studied music at university and gained fame with her debut album in 2004.
Alexandra, the late comedian’s sister, honored her on Instagram and disclosed that their father had also recently passed away.
She stated, “It is with profound sadness and pain that I must announce that my beloved and beautiful sister, the light of our lives who brought us so much joy with her laughter, positive spirit, drive, and energy, has left us forever.
“Please, I’m pleading with you all, give us time for the sake of the children.
“My family is enduring an incredibly difficult period, having lost both parents. We recently laid our father to rest and now our sister and brother-in-law. We need time to heal, but most importantly, we need to be there for the children.
“We deeply appreciate your kind messages, but in these challenging times, we need space to breathe.”
