Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Faces Backlash for Using Gay Slur During TikTok Live
Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, is facing significant backlash online after using a gay slur during a TikTok live session, with many also criticizing Nicki for not addressing his comments.
The incident occurred Friday night when Kenneth appeared alongside Nicki in a music studio. While Nicki was encouraging her fans to stay positive, Kenneth interjected with a controversial remark, saying, “That’s right, especially little f****** or f*** boys,” using a derogatory term for gay people commonly found in the rap industry.
Unsurprisingly, Kenneth’s comments sparked outrage on social media, with many fans expressing disappointment not only with him but also with Nicki for not correcting him during the live session. Fans pointed out that Nicki has a large LGBTQ+ following, and her silence on the matter has led some to question her support for her fans, known as the Barbz.
The couple, who married in 2019 and welcomed a son the following year, have faced controversy before. In 2020, Petty was required to register as a sex offender in California due to a 1995 first-degree attempted rape conviction.
Attempts to reach Nicki’s team for comment on Kenneth’s use of the slur have so far gone unanswered.
