Former Miss Switzerland Finalist Kristina Joksimovic Murdered by Husband
Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist, was allegedly strangled, dismembered with a jigsaw, and then pureed in a blender by her husband. Her body was discovered in Binningen, near Basel, Switzerland, in February.
Thomas, her husband and a businessman, had his appeal for release from custody rejected by the Federal Court in Lausanne after confessing to the murder. The case has shocked the public with its brutal details.
Investigation Reveals Motives and Psychological Factors
The investigation revealed significant evidence of mental illness related to the crime. Kristina, 38, and mother of two, was reportedly killed after a prior incident where she allegedly threatened Thomas with a knife. Reports also indicated that their relationship had been troubled for months, with police previously responding to calls about domestic violence.
Investigators described Thomas as exhibiting a ‘high level of criminal energy’ and noted his ‘lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness’ in the aftermath of the murder. They also identified ‘sadistic-sociopathic traits’ in his behavior. Prosecutors reported that Thomas strangled Kristina before dismembering her and attempting to conceal the crime.
Kristina Joksimovic, originally from Binningen with Serbian roots, had shifted from modeling to working as a catwalk coach and training Miss Switzerland candidates.
