Kim Kardashian Returns to Paris Courtroom 9 Years After Armed Heist That Shook the World
Kim Kardashian has made a powerful return to Paris nearly a decade after enduring a terrifying robbery that left the world stunned — this time, she’s testifying against the suspects who allegedly tied her up and stole over $10 million in jewelry.
On Tuesday, Kim arrived at the Paris courthouse alongside her mother, Kris Jenner, both looking composed and confident. Kim greeted supporters with a calm smile and a subtle wave as she stepped out of a black van — dressed sharply in an all-black ensemble with a tailored blazer, matching skirt, and statement jewelry that boldly spoke for itself.
It’s the first time Kim has come face-to-face in court with the men accused of the now-infamous 2016 armed robbery, which took place during Paris Fashion Week. The accused belong to a group dubbed the “Grandpa Robbers” due to their age many of them are now in their 60s and 70s.
Sources close to the SKIMS founder say Kim is ready to speak her truth, describing this as a moment of justice not mercy. “This isn’t about asking for leniency,” one insider said. “She wants the court to hear what they did to her.”
Back in October 2016, Kim was staying at a private luxury residence — the Hôtel de Pourtalès — when masked men broke in around 3 a.m., subdued the security guard, and stormed her apartment. They tied her up, held her at gunpoint, and locked her in the bathroom while they escaped with millions in jewelry, including her iconic $4 million engagement ring from Kanye West.
One of the suspects, Yunice Abbas, even wrote a book about the heist titled “I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian”. During his recent testimony, he claimed he fled the scene on a bicycle — but fell and dropped some of the jewels. A $24,000 necklace was later recovered by a woman who unknowingly wore it before learning it was stolen property.
Another key suspect, the alleged mastermind known as “Old Omar,” testified through written responses displayed on screen, as he is both deaf and mute. Though he admitted to taking part in the robbery, he denies organizing it.
Out of the 10 men charged, five are accused of carrying out the robbery and kidnapping directly, while the remaining five are facing charges for aiding and abetting. One suspect passed away before trial, and another is reportedly dealing with advanced dementia — leaving uncertainty around his ability to face justice.
As the trial unfolds, the world is watching Kim Kardashian’s courage in revisiting a night that could have changed everything
