Kehlani: My Baby Daddy’s Abusive, I Need Protection Immediately!
Kehlani is seeking protection from her ex, Javaughn Young-White, alleging that he is physically, emotionally, and verbally abusive, constantly under the influence, and negatively impacting their daughter, Adeya Nomi.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kehlani was granted a court-ordered protection order against Javaughn after an incident in June, where he allegedly smashed through her locked bedroom door in a fit of rage. The altercation reportedly began when Kehlani confronted him about a notice she received, indicating he had applied for public assistance.
At the time, Javaughn was living in a back house on Kehlani’s property, where she claims he spent his days smoking weed, using magic mushrooms, and neglecting his surroundings, leaving the space in disarray.
Kehlani alleges that during the confrontation, Javaughn broke into her room, calling her a “bitch” and a “liar,” and blamed her for their daughter’s birth, accusing her of “trapping” him and ruining his life.
The singer says she eventually told Javaughn to leave, and when she entered the back house, it was filled with weed, food, trash, and debris. She also claims their 5-year-old daughter would spend a lot of time with Javaughn in that space, returning home smelling like marijuana. Kehlani believes that Javaughn’s frequent drug use leads to religious rants and poses a risk to their child.
After five years together, Kehlani says she can no longer endure the “chaos and abuse,” accusing Javaughn of disturbing her peace of mind and threatening her safety. Following their June altercation, Javaughn allegedly blocked her and disappeared.
Kehlani also expressed concern about Javaughn picking up their daughter from school, as she has no idea where he takes her during their time together.
A judge found enough cause to grant Kehlani a temporary restraining order, prohibiting Javaughn from contacting her or coming within 100 yards of her or their daughter, Adeya. Kehlani was also granted sole custody of Adeya until a court hearing next month.
