Jude Okoye Talks About Peter’s EFCC Petition and How Paul Got Involved
Jude Okoye recently opened up about the distress he felt after discovering that his brother, Peter Okoye, had filed a petition against him with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He revealed that he was on the verge of losing his mind when he realized that Peter had submitted the petition despite visiting his home and playing with his son just days before.
Peter claimed that the petition was filed after he discovered Jude had allegedly set up a “secret company” to divert funds from their joint business. However, Jude strongly refuted this claim, explaining that while he, Peter, and Paul (their other brother) have a joint company, they each also own private businesses. He pointed out that Peter runs P-Classic, Paul manages Rude Boy Records, and his own Northside Entertainment has been operating openly for 11 years.
Jude expressed his shock at Peter’s actions, noting that Peter never approached him to discuss the supposed discovery before escalating the matter to the EFCC. He recounted that Peter’s friendly visit to his home and interaction with his son occurred just before he received an EFCC summons, leaving him feeling betrayed and nearly driving him to madness.
In an effort to defend himself, Jude said he filed a counter-petition against P-Square, aiming to show that any money in his account was also present in Peter’s and Paul’s accounts, proving he wasn’t cheating them. He shared his frustration at being targeted while his brothers were not scrutinized in the same way.
Jude explained that the EFCC investigation is still ongoing, and the Commission has been meticulous in its work. He emphasized that any money he received was in accordance with the agreed-upon sharing formula among the brothers.
He elaborated on their financial arrangement, stating that each of them receives their royalty, divides it into three, and distributes it accordingly. However, when P-Square had internal issues, the sharing stopped, and each brother kept what they earned individually. When the group reunited, Jude reinstated the original sharing practice, but Peter and Paul continued to keep their earnings to themselves.
Despite this, Jude concluded that he has moved on with his life, though he remains entangled in the EFCC case.
