Jackpot Winners Ambushed by Gunmen: Man Shot in Both Legs (Video)
A Florida couple was brutally attacked by masked gunmen outside their home after winning a significant casino jackpot. The entire harrowing incident was captured on their home security camera.
Kim Chambliss and her boyfriend, Val Delacruz, had just returned from a date night at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Florida, when they were suddenly confronted by two armed men demanding money.
The video footage shows Kim being shot in the calf, but she manages to escape into the house. Val, however, is left on the doorstep, injured and vulnerable. As he lies there, one of the gunmen approaches him, wielding a large pistol.
Another shot rings out, striking Val in his other leg, while he pleads for his life. The video cuts off as one of the assailants covers the doorbell camera with his hand. Reports indicate that the attackers fled the scene when a neighbor responded to the noise.
Both Kim and Val survived the August 1st attack, though Val is still recovering from his injuries and working towards regaining his ability to walk. The couple reportedly won $3,000 that night at the casino.
Tristan Wright and Marcus Jenkins have been arrested in connection with the attack. Wright faces charges of being a principal to attempted murder and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
