INSANE Police Shootout Caught on Cam Suspect Killed, Officer Down
Chilling new body cam footage captures a terrifying shootout between police and a gunman during a domestic violence call that turned into a deadly war zone inside a North Carolina home.
The Raleigh Police Department has released dramatic footage from a violent January 21st standoff that looks like something straight out of an action movie but it was all too real.
Officers were responding to a late-night burglary call when they arrived to find a panicked woman outside her home. According to police, her boyfriend had just been shot by her ex-husband, 44-year-old Antonio Rodrigues, who had barricaded himself inside.
Things spiraled fast.
As officers entered the home, chaos erupted gunshots flew in a hailstorm of violence. Inside, Rodrigues opened fire on police, and the intense exchange ended with him fatally shot by returning fire.
Officer Max Gillick was also hit during the exchange and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, he survived and is expected to fully recover.
The woman’s boyfriend, who was shot before police arrived, sadly died from his injuries at the hospital.
After an investigation, the Wake County District Attorney ruled that the officers’ use of deadly force was justified under the circumstances.
The footage is a raw reminder of the real-life danger officers face on the job and how a domestic dispute can turn deadly in seconds.
