A campaign office for U.S. Presidential nominee Kamala Harris in a Phoenix suburb was struck by gunfire, causing damage but fortunately no injuries.
Details of the Incident
The gunfire was reported just after midnight on Monday, and several bullets were found to have hit the building and its windows. This incident comes just days before Harris is scheduled to visit Arizona. Tempe police are actively investigating the situation.
Previous Attack on the Same Office
This marks the second shooting at the same office within weeks. On September 16, a similar attack occurred when rounds from a pellet or BB gun were fired at the building. No injuries were reported in that instance either.
Police and Campaign Response
Sean McEnerney, Arizona Democratic Party coordinated campaign manager, expressed gratitude to the Tempe Police for their swift response. “We are fortunate no one was present or injured,” McEnerney said in a statement.
Rising Threats in the Political Arena
This attack follows a recent attempt on Donald Trump’s life at his West Palm Beach golf course on September 15. With the presidential election heating up, the political climate in the U.S. has become increasingly volatile.
