Fan Sues Nicki Minaj for Slander, Denies Being a ‘Crazy Stalker on Welfare
Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit from a disgruntled fan who claims the rapper publicly humiliated him by labeling him as a mentally unstable stalker. The fan, Tameer Peak, has taken legal action against the New York rapper, alleging that her actions have caused him significant harm.
According to the lawsuit, filed in L.A. Superior Court, Tameer describes himself as one of Nicki’s most devoted fans over the past 15 years, even assisting in promoting her 2023 album, “Pink Friday 2.” However, their relationship allegedly took a turn for the worse in 2017 during what Nicki referred to as her “Nicki hate train” phase. Tameer claims that during this period, Nicki accused him and other fans of being paid moles sent to sabotage her career.
The suit details several incidents where Nicki allegedly mistreated Tameer. One instance reportedly occurred when she invited him to her hotel, only to film and embarrass him in front of 100,000 viewers on Instagram Live. Another incident mentioned in the lawsuit took place during a Super Bowl weekend event in 2020, where Tameer alleges that Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, physically assaulted him. Tameer says Nicki later acknowledged the incident in a direct message.
In 2024, Tameer claims he received messages from others stating that Nicki wanted him to “stop saying dumb stuff,” which he believes damaged his reputation within the fan community. He also alleges that Nicki targeted him on Twitter (now X) during several Stationhead sessions, where she engaged with fans live.
During one session, Nicki allegedly commented, “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic,” which Tameer interpreted as an insinuation that he was mentally unstable. In another session, she allegedly referred to him as “one sandwich short of a picnic” and suggested he was receiving government assistance, implying he was on welfare. Additionally, Nicki allegedly labeled Tameer a “stalker” who impersonated members of her team.
As a result of these actions, Tameer is seeking $5 million in damages for reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss. Nicki Minaj’s representative has yet to comment on the lawsuit, according to Bbase.
