Elon Musk has disclosed that he faced assassination attempts by “two homicidal maniacs” in the past seven months.
Speaking at a recent shareholder meeting, the Tesla CEO likened his situation to that of John Lennon, suggesting his high profile makes him a target for dangerous individuals.
Responding to a shareholder’s query about his safety precautions, Musk humorously remarked on the increasing risks associated with his fame, stating, “I guess I should start working out to avoid getting ‘assassinated.'”
Highlighting the gravity of his situation, Musk explained, “The more you’re in the public eye, the higher the chance that someone with ill intentions might target you.” He revealed that Tesla had encountered two such incidents recently, emphasizing the need for caution.
Acknowledging the need to be cautious, Musk admitted he has become more reserved and has stopped signing autographs for fans in public.
Drawing parallels to John Lennon’s tragic death at the hands of a fan, Musk expressed his determination to stay safe, concluding with a vow: “I will do my best to stay alive.”
