Dimitri Payet Faces Trial in Brazil Over Shocking Sex and Urine Abuse Allegations
French football star Dimitri Payet is set to face trial in Brazil after being formally charged with psychological abuse against his former mistress, Larissa Natalya Ferrari. The case, now moving forward after a prior dismissal, centers around shocking allegations involving coercion and degrading acts.
Brazilian outlet Globo reported that a domestic violence court in Rio de Janeiro accepted the case following a successful appeal by prosecutors. Payet, 38, who recently ended his contract with Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, now faces a legal battle over accusations from a woman he was romantically involved with during his time in the country.
Ferrari, a lawyer, claims that during their seven-month relationship, Payet took advantage of her mental health struggles and pressured her into humiliating acts, including drinking her own urine and licking the floor. According to her, these acts were allegedly recorded at his request.
In a statement, Ferrari said:
“He demanded proof of love from me, which consisted of humiliation. I was manipulated in a vulnerable state. I want justice.”
Payet has reportedly acknowledged the relationship and some of the acts, but insists everything was consensual and often initiated by Ferrari. He allegedly told investigators that she had requested slaps during intercourse and explained that marks on her skin were due to her sensitivity.
Ferrari’s legal team welcomed the court’s decision, saying it sends a clear message about the seriousness of abuse, regardless of someone’s fame or status:
“This is a crucial step toward justice. It shows a commitment to upholding women’s dignity.”
Payet’s lawyer, Sheila Lustoza, said the defense respects the court’s decision but maintains her client’s innocence, adding that they’re confident the evidence will disprove the accusations.
The case has drawn widespread attention both in Brazil and internationally. More updates are expected as Payet formally responds in court.
