Collin Gosselin Discharged from Marines, Blames Mother Kate
Collin Gosselin has been discharged from the U.S. Marines, and he attributes it to a decision his mother, Kate, made back in 2016—sending him to an institution for troubled youth.
Collin, one of Kate and Jon Gosselin’s eight children, was close to graduating from the Marines when his past time at Fairmount Behavioral Health Institute in Pennsylvania came to light. This discovery led to his discharge from the service.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Collin expressed frustration that the Marines didn’t investigate the reasons behind his stay at the mental health facility. Instead, they made a quick decision to discharge him without further consideration.
Collin doesn’t shy away from criticizing his mother for sending him to Fairmount, suggesting that she did so to cover up her own actions.
In response to her son’s comments, Kate explained that Collin had several psychiatric diagnoses at the time, and she felt she had no other option but to seek help through the institution.
This marks a difficult setback for Collin, especially since his father, Jon, had proudly spoken about his progress in Marine boot camp. Jon had been supportive of Collin, particularly after Collin moved in with him for two years following his stay at the institution.
Despite the disappointment, Collin is fighting the Marines’ decision, as becoming a U.S. Marine remains his top dream. In the meantime, he plans to focus on earning a finance degree at Penn State.
