Chinese Murder Suspect in LA Caught Attempting to Re-enter the US
A Chinese migrant wanted for murder in Los Angeles was apprehended while trying to sneak back into the US, Homeland Security sources report.
Junnan Ge was arrested near San Diego on June 14 along with a large group of migrants who had turned themselves in to border agents, hoping for entry into the country, sources informed The Post.
During the arrest, border agents conducted background checks and discovered that the 37-year-old Ge had an outstanding warrant from Los Angeles dating back to 2004 for an alleged murder.
Ge had previously crossed the border in 2011 after the alleged murder, but it remains unclear whether he was allowed to stay in the US or was deported at that time.
Border agents acknowledged to The Post that their vetting processes are not comprehensive or infallible, admitting that some dangerous individuals have been inadvertently released into the US.
Nevertheless, they have managed to apprehend 587 illegal migrants with warrants and over 10,000 individuals convicted of crimes since October 2023, according to federal data.
