Chance the Rapper Finalizes Divorce from Kirsten Corley After 5 Years of Marriage
Chance the Rapper has reportedly reached a divorce settlement with his estranged wife, Kirsten Corley, nearly nine months after they announced their separation.
The 31-year-old rapper and Kirsten filed legal documents in Cook County, Illinois, confirming that they have finalized their split, according to a report from TMZ on Thursday.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2019 in Newport Beach, California, share two daughters, Kensli (9) and Marli (5). In court filings, Kirsten described their relationship as “irretrievably broken” and noted that they had been living separately for over six months.
Kirsten also stated that she reviewed the settlement and believes it is a “fair and equitable resolution,” although further details were not disclosed.
The settlement comes nearly a month after Kirsten officially filed for divorce and seven months after the couple revealed their intention to separate.
In a joint statement released in April, the former couple said:
“The two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
Chance (born Chancelor Johnathan Bennett) and Kirsten have a long history together, having known each other since childhood. They began dating in 2013, welcomed their first daughter, Kensli, in 2015, and briefly broke up in 2016 before reconciling and marrying in 2019.
The divorce marks the end of their five-year marriage, but both have emphasized their commitment to co-parenting their two children.
