Rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has given social activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) a 24-hour ultimatum to apologize and retract a statement made against him.
The Controversial Audio Leak
On Tuesday, September 24th, VeryDarkMan released an alleged audio conversation between Bobrisky and a male friend, where Bobrisky claimed he had spoken with Falz while in prison. According to Bobrisky, both Falz and his father, Femi Falana (SAN), had tried to secure him a presidential pardon.
VDM’s Reaction and Falz’s Response
In reaction, VDM criticized Falz and his father for their supposed involvement with Bobrisky, even questioning Falz’s sexuality with the phrase “dey do.”
Falz, through a statement issued from his father’s law chambers, confirmed that Bobrisky had indeed reached out to him on May 4, requesting N3 million for a VIP prison section. However, Falz stated that he declined the request. He also expressed that VDM’s comments wrongly portrayed him as a homosexual, a person willing to manipulate the justice system, and a complicit figure in corrupt practices.
Legal Demands from Falz
Falz’s legal team issued a demand for an immediate retraction and public apology from VDM. The rapper emphasized that VDM’s comments damaged his reputation as a human rights activist.
Potential Legal Action
If VDM fails to comply within the 24-hour timeframe, Falz’s lawyers warned that they would seek legal remedies, including monetary damages, to address the situation.
