BBNaija’s Mercy Eke: “I Cried for Days in Pain After My Butt Lift Surgery
BBNaija star Mercy Eke has shared the physical and emotional pain she endured following a butt lift procedure she had in 2018.
In an interview on the Love is a Game show, Eke explained that societal pressures influenced her decision to undergo the surgery. Despite the intense pain she experienced during recovery, she feels the results were ultimately worth it.
“Honestly, it was driven by trends and peer pressure. I had the surgery in 2018 because everyone was doing it. I had a slim body but a slightly large stomach. I was scared and didn’t tell my mom because I didn’t want anyone to discourage me. It was just me and two friends who planned and paid for the procedure together,” Eke said.
She described the post-surgery recovery as extremely challenging, particularly the painful massages required. “After the surgery, the massages are the most painful part. You can’t sleep on your butt for 14 days—you have to lie on your stomach. It was very painful, and I cried for three days, but it was worth it.”
Eke addressed rumors about additional cosmetic procedures, clarifying that aside from the butt lift and minor nose fillers, she has not had further body enhancements. She also emphasized the need for better education about cosmetic procedures, noting that many people misunderstand what liposuction involves. “My butt is the softest thing you’ll ever touch because it’s just fat—it feels like water,” she added.
