Arkansas Man Shoots His Own Mom in the Head 3 Times with Crossbow – Blames It on His Cat

A chilling incident in Rogers, Arkansas, has left the internet stunned after a man reportedly launched a brutal crossbow attack on his own mother, claiming he “snapped” over a cat.

Shocking Home Invasion at Dawn

Around 6:45 AM on March 24, 29-year-old Joseph Alexander allegedly broke into his parents’ home through a bedroom window. His mother, Mary Alexander, had just gotten up to let the family cat out when her son, armed with a crossbow, struck her in the head. She recalled hearing a loud pop and seeing “blue” before realizing an arrow had pierced her skull.

According to court records, Joseph didn’t stop there—he fired two more bolts into her head while she was down. Miraculously, she survived.

Terrifying Demands and a Family Held Hostage

After the attack, Joseph reportedly disabled the family’s phones and forced his father, Mike Alexander, to transfer $3,400 via CashApp and Bitcoin. He also demanded access to their bank account logins, shouting threats and demanding what he claimed was “his.”

Mary, lying on the floor with arrows in her head, played dead to stay alive. At one point, she overheard her son telling Mike, “She’s dead. Don’t worry.”

While Joseph and his father moved into the garage, Mary managed to grab her walker and escape unnoticed to a neighbor’s house, where she was later found by emergency responders.

Disturbing Motive Revealed

After leading police on a high-speed chase in his father’s vehicle and crashing, Joseph was tased and arrested. When questioned by authorities, he gave a shocking explanation: he attacked because he thought his mom made a comment about the cat that upset him.

“I didn’t have a reason. I just lost my cool… I thought she was going after my cat,” Joseph allegedly confessed. “It didn’t go in all the way, so I pulled it back and did it again.”

Facing Serious Charges

Joseph Alexander now faces multiple felony charges including attempted capital murder, aggravated burglary, and domestic battery. His bond has been set at $750,000 as he awaits a court hearing scheduled for June 9.
