Adele Confirms She’s Engaged After Fan Proposes to Her
Adele has confirmed that she’s engaged to Rich Paul after three years of dating. During her August 9 concert in Munich, Germany, the 36-year-old singer hinted at her upcoming marriage. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), a fan jokingly proposed to Adele, leading her to reveal that she’s already engaged.
“I can’t marry you, I’m already getting married,” Adele responded to the crowd, raising her left hand to show a diamond ring. The audience erupted in cheers as she displayed the ring.
Adele then thanked the fan for the proposal, saying, “But I appreciate it.”
Rumors about Adele and Paul’s relationship have been circulating since 2021, with previous speculation that they might have already tied the knot. In September 2023, during her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, another fan proposed to Adele. She politely declined, noting that Paul was in the audience.
“You can’t marry me, I’m straight, my love,” she said at the time. “My husband’s here tonight, he’s here.”
Just days later, Adele referred to herself as Paul’s spouse at another Las Vegas concert, though she humorously admitted she might not be the “greatest wife” due to her lack of knowledge about American football.
“I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand and enjoy American football because I love sports. But I just don’t understand the game, and it’s so annoying because I’m actually quite a clever person,” she told the crowd.
Engagement rumors first began swirling in February 2022, after Adele was spotted with a diamond ring on her left hand at the BRIT Awards. However, in an interview with Elle months later, she dismissed the speculation, saying, “I’m not engaged. I love high-end jewelry, boy!”
