Actress Halle Berry accuses ex-husband Olivier Martinez of delaying co-parenting therapy as they work through conflicts regarding their son.
American actress Halle Berry has accused her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, of delaying their co-parenting therapy to “take the summer off”—a year after finalizing their divorce.
The Oscar-winner, 57, married Martinez, 58, in 2013, the same year their son Maceo, now 10, was born. They separated in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in August 2023.
In May, the pair agreed to attend therapy to “resolve disputes and conflicts” to effectively co-parent their son. However, according to court documents obtained by TMZ, Berry claims Martinez decided to delay the sessions until September to take the “summer off” without consulting her or their therapist.
Berry alleges that Martinez missed July sessions to travel to France and wants to cancel August sessions due to his brother visiting. She is seeking a judge’s intervention to enforce the agreed schedule.
Berry notes that since the sessions are conducted via Zoom, Martinez’s travel is not a valid excuse. The six joint sessions were supposed to be completed by June 14.
In May, court documents revealed that the couple would work with an adult and child psychiatrist to resolve their issues. The psychiatrist will determine the structure and frequency of the co-parenting sessions.
The agreement included attending one solo session each and at least six joint sessions by June 14. Berry’s boyfriend, Van Hunt, 54, might also participate in the sessions, as the documents state he is not excluded from joining.
Berry started dating Hunt in September 2020 and finalized her divorce from Martinez in 2023.
