Sophia Umansky Fires Back at Critics After Admitting to Using Weight Loss Drug
Sophia Umansky “I Don’t Care if I’m ‘Too Skinny’… I’ll Keep Using Weight Loss Drugs if I Want!”
Sophia Umansky, the daughter of “Real Housewives” star Kyle Richards and entrepreneur Mauricio Umansky, is hitting back at critics after revealing she’s been using a popular weight loss drug, Mounjaro, despite being called “too skinny” by some.
In an interview with People, Sophia confidently responded to the backlash, saying, “Everyone needs to calm down and live their own lives.” She made it clear that her decision to use the drug is hers alone, and she’s not going to let online critics control her choices.
Sophia first shared her weight loss journey on TikTok at the end of April, where she opened up about taking Mounjaro, a medication typically prescribed for Type 2 diabetes. She also mentioned experiencing some side effects, like hair shedding, but stood by her decision.
Naturally, fans voiced their concerns, some claiming that Sophia’s weight was already ideal and accusing her of promoting unhealthy body standards. However, she remained unbothered, saying that she’s “owning it” and asserting her right to make decisions as a 25-year-old adult. “I can do what I want,” she declared.
Sophia clarified that she consulted a doctor before starting the medication and that her mother, Kyle Richards, has been fully supportive of her decision. She also explained that it’s not about feeling unattractive before, but rather about boosting her self-confidence and feeling a little more “cute.”
Sophia Umansky’s decision follows in the footsteps of other celebrities, such as Meghan Trainor, Amy Schumer, Tracy Morgan, and Kelly Clarkson, who have all openly admitted to using weight loss drugs to help manage their weight.
At the end of the day, Sophia believes in doing what feels right for her—no matter what others say.
