Joycelyn Savage Speaks Out: “I’m Not R. Kelly’s Victim or Sex Slave
Joycelyn Savage is setting the record straight about her relationship with R. Kelly, pushing back against claims made by her own family.
In a video message shared on Sunday, Joycelyn firmly denied accusations that she’s being controlled or mistreated by the singer. She says her parents are spreading false stories, and insists that she’s with R. Kelly by choice not as a victim.
Joycelyn revealed that she and Kelly have been together for a decade, and have been engaged for the last three years. According to her, the couple plans to marry and hopes to start a family when Kelly is released.
“I’m not held against my will. I’m not a sex slave. I’m not brainwashed or any of those crazy lies people have told about me,” Joycelyn said, asking the public to stop believing what she calls her family’s false narrative.
She also urged supporters to keep R. Kelly in their prayers as he remains behind bars. Savage hopes for his freedom in the near future.
Meanwhile, Joycelyn’s family, through their lawyer Gerald Griggs, claims they haven’t had direct contact with her in years. Joycelyn says that’s by her choice, not because of any wrongdoing — just a strained family relationship.
R. Kelly is currently serving time after being convicted of racketeering, sex trafficking, child pornography, and other charges. He recently alleged he was targeted in a plot while in prison that left him hospitalized.
Attempts to reach Joycelyn’s family for comment have gone unanswered so far.
