Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Calls for Trump’s Impeachment After Iran Bombing Shocks America
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is demanding President Donald Trump’s impeachment after his surprise order to bomb Iran’s top nuclear sites, calling the attack “unconstitutional.”
A furious AOC slammed Trump for launching strikes without getting approval from Congress, saying he violated the Constitution and War Powers Act.
“The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers,” AOC said shortly after Trump announced the attack. “He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. This is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”
Trump had revealed that U.S. forces bombed Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear facilities, adding that all American jets safely left Iranian airspace.
The backlash didn’t stop with AOC.
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), often critical of Trump, also called the attack unconstitutional and hinted at supporting impeachment.
“This is not Constitutional,” Massie said simply.
House Intelligence Committee Democrat Jim Himes (D-Conn.) joined the outrage, saying Trump bypassed lawmakers who should have been briefed before any military action.
“My attention to this matter comes BEFORE bombs fall. Full stop,” Himes posted on X (formerly Twitter).
