In a haunting miracle, a British father was caught on video walking away from the wreckage of the Air India plane crash just moments after the aircraft exploded into flames.
Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, was seated in 11A when the Boeing 787 Dreamliner went down shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India, en route to London Gatwick. The crash has now claimed at least 204 lives, with many bodies still being recovered.

“Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise… then everything went black,” he told reporters from his hospital bed. “I woke up surrounded by bodies… I just ran.”
Ramesh had been visiting family in India and was returning home to his wife and child in London. The aircraft crashed into a densely populated area, including a hospital building with medical staff inside at least one more survivor has been found on the ground.
Initially, authorities believed there were no survivors.
The doomed flight carried 242 people: 53 Britons, 159 Indian nationals, seven Portuguese citizens, a Canadian, and 11 children including two newborns.
Military-backed rescue crews are still pulling bodies from the smoldering site. Investigators believe the plane may have suffered a power failure during the most critical phase of takeoff.
