Jeff Bezos Closes Down NYC Street Just to Move Furniture into $119M Penthouse Watch the Video
Only a billionaire like Jeff Bezos could shut down part of Fifth Avenue just to move some furniture
A section of Manhattan’s busy Fifth Avenue was recently closed off so a massive crane could deliver what looked like high-end furniture into Bezos’ $119 million penthouse. The whole scene was caught on video and it’s going viral.
In the TikTok clip, a giant wrapped piece of furniture is seen dangling high above the street, slowly lifted up to the top floors of 212 Fifth Avenue the luxury building where Bezos owns five apartments covering the top four floors.
Crowds gathered below as the crane did its job, with streets blocked off by tape, construction gear, and trucks. The clip, filmed by Raffi Arslanian, a local business owner, shows the jaw-dropping moment.
“You want to see how Jeff Bezos moves furniture?” he says in the video. “Back to reality for the rest of us, where we use U-Hauls.”
Online, people couldn’t help but guess what was being delivered maybe a grand piano? A hot tub? Some even joked it was just an “Amazon Prime delivery for billionaires.”

These kinds of crane moves in NYC can cost more than $20,000 a day not including permits. But with a net worth of $223 billion, Bezos probably didn’t blink.
One commenter summed it up perfectly: “We’d all do the same if we had his money.
