1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton Arrested for Drug Possession and Child Endangerment After Camel Bite Incident at Zoo
Amy Slaton, star of “1000-Lb Sisters,” found herself behind bars on Labor Day after an incident at a Tennessee zoo led to her arrest for alleged drug possession and child endangerment.
The events unfolded when Crockett County Sheriff’s deputies responded to calls about a guest being bitten by a camel at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo. During their investigation, deputies encountered Amy Slaton and Brian Scott Lovvorn inside a vehicle that reportedly emitted a suspicious odor.
The smell was allegedly linked to narcotics, leading to the arrests of Slaton and Lovvorn for illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI drugs, as well as two counts of child endangerment. The identity of the child involved and the specific type of drugs found have not been disclosed. It’s worth noting that marijuana remains illegal in Tennessee.
Both Slaton and Lovvorn were taken to the county jail, where they were booked and had their mug shots taken.
Crockett County officials have not revealed who was bitten by the camel or the severity of the injuries.
Amy Slaton, who has been a central figure on “1000-Lb Sisters” alongside her sister Tammy since the show premiered on TLC in 2020, is no stranger to personal challenges. Last year, her husband, Michael Halterman, filed for divorce after four years of marriage. The former couple shares two sons, Gage Deon, 4, and Glen Allen, 2.
